Suriname is a small Dutch speaking country on the Northern coast of South America, part of the Amazonian basin. With a total land area of 166,000 square kilometers and population of approximately 492, 829 inhabitants, Suriname is one of the least densely populated countries in the world. Covered with uninhabited and undisturbed tropical Amazonian forest and a small amount of tradistional Maroon of Indigenious Villages, the interior is largely uninhabited. Suriname offers visitors a safe and peacefule open door to the Amazon basin, while at the same time givnig them an opportunity to experience the Caribbean in a new non traditional way.
