Athens-Myconos-Santorini-Crete – 12 Days – 11 Nights

SEMI-INDEPENDENT TOUR: Immerse yourself in the best of Greece with this 12-day tour. Unveil the treasures of Athens, from the Panathinaikos Stadium to the iconic Acropolis and its museum. Then, journey to the enchanting islands of Mykonos and Santorini, allowing leisure time to explore at your own pace. The tour concludes in the largest Greek island, Crete, where you’ll have the freedom explore as you like – from trying unique Cretan cuisine, to exploring the Minoan civilization at Knossos or relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Elounda.

Day 01 :

Day 1: Athens

Upon arrival, our friendly staff will transfer you to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.

Day 02 :

Day 2: Acropolis

The Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum

This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city.

Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop).

Continue and pass by the Prime Minister’s residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma).

On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon.

Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum.

N.B. 1) Due to certain restrictions in the visiting hours of the new Acropolis museum the order of the program can be changed.

Morning city tour includes visit to the Acropolis. Balance of day at leisure.

Day 03 :

Day 3: Athens/Myconos

Transfer to the port of Piraeus for your fast ferry to Mykonos. Upon arrival on the island of Mykonos, our friendly staff will transfer you to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.

Day 04 :

Days 4 & 5 Mykonos

Enjoy this Very popular island, with splendid beach coves, quaint narrow streets laced with whitewashed houses with balconies where you can meet artists and jetsetters alike. Windmills give an extra romantic touch to his lovely island. Lots of air tavernas, offering an array of Greek delicacies. Nothing can detract from the beauty of its landscape, its photogenic churches and its sandy beaches. It is truly an island of Paradise.

Day 05 :

Day 6 Mykonos/Santorini

After breakfast, transfer to the port for your onward journey to Santorini. Upon arrival on the island of Santorini our friendly staff will transfer you to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.

Day 06 :

Days 7 & 8 Santorini

Santorini is totally unlike any other place on earth. The original circular island was blown apart nearly 3.000 years ago by a fierce volcanic eruption. Today one can only look and wonder at the beauty created by natural destruction. The island of the lost civilization of Atlantis, where you can see unforgettable sunsets and panoramic views… thus the lover’s paradise. The town of Fira’s whitewashed houses, narrow streets, open-air cafes and glittering boutiques cling to a steep cliff, accessible by cable-car or by donkey ride.

Day 07 :

Day 9 Santorini/Crete

After breakfast, transfer to the port for your onward journey to Crete. Upon arrival on the island of Crete, our friendly staff will transfer you to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.

Day 08 :

Days 10 & 11 Crete

Days free for touring, visiting and strolling the island of Crete, the largest of the Greek islands, the most southerly located that’s why the weather is normally warm throughout the year. It is an exciting and fascinating island, home of King Minos, with the famous Labyrinth and its beast the Minotaurus, half man, half bull. There are so many places of interest on the island that we can only name few of them, such as Malia, Phaestos, Zakros, the exotic beach of Vai with the unique Palm grove, Lassithi with its thousands of white-sail windmills, the sacred cave of Dicte at Psychro, where Jupiter was hiding from his father Kronos, Rethimnon with venetian and Islamic monuments. Don’t miss it!

Day 09 :

Day 12 Crete/Athens

After breakfast short flight to Athens for onward connection to your international departure flight home.
