Elegant Ireland

Morning arrival in Dublin. Having cleared Irish customs, you are greeted by our driver/guide. Departing Dublin Airport we travel the short distance across the midlands to our castle hotel. Some free time to rest. Afternoon departure for a local sightseeing tour that takes us to County Sligo, birthplace of W.B. Yeats. We see his beloved Isle of Innisfree, Glencar Waterfall and Lough Gill. Return to our castle hotel. Tonight enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail. Dinner and overnight at Lough Rynn Castle**.

Today we enjoy a relaxing tour of County Donegal. First we travel to Northern Ireland briefly for a visit to Belleek Pottery and China. Continue on to County Donegal and drive along Donegal Bay to view the Slieve League Cliffs, the highest in Europe and overlooking the Atlantic ocean with breathtaking views. This Donegal area is also famous for tweeds and knitwear. We return to our castle hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we travel south to Galway, where we enjoy a brief panoramic tour. We continue south to Rathbaun Farm, where we see a farming family carry out every day chores, including sheep shearing and watch the sheep dog maneuver the flock and enjoy tea/coffee and farmhouse scones. Continue on to the majestic Cliffs of Moher, rising high over the Atlantic Ocean. Optional walk to O’Brien’s Tower for a view of the Aran Island’s, off of Galway Bay. Continue on to nearby Dromoland Castle for a wonderful dinner and overnight.

Morning departure from Dromoland Castle, we travel south via Limerick and the old world village of Adare to Killarney and check into our luxurious hotel. Shortly afterwards we depart for a relaxing lunch, then enjoy a one-hour Jaunting Car Tour through the Irish National Park, along the lakes short en-route to Ross Castle. Enjoy the wit and knowledge of your local jarvey. At Ross Castle we will commence a scenic cruise of Killarney lakes. Coach transfer back to our hotel, where we will enjoy dinner and overnight.

A delightful day takes us along the Kerry coast to the Dingle Peninsula, which offers magnificent coastal scenery. Beyond Slea Head, we see the Blasket Islands, the last outpost of Europe. A full day tour returning to Killarney, where we enjoy dinner at our hotel this evening. Overnight in Killarney.

Leaving Killarney we travel this morning via the rich farmland’s of Counties Cork and Tipperary to the historic Rock of Cashel, where we pause for a photo-op of the stately ruins. Continue on to County Kildare, home of the Irish Derby and the Irish National Stud Farm. We pause to visit the National Stud and adjoining Japanese Gardens. Continue on to the capital city of Dublin, where tonight we will enjoy dinner and an Irish cabaret show. Overnight at the deluxe Shelbourne hotel*.

Morning sightseeing in Dublin includes a visit to the Guinness Storehouse and the Old Jameson Distillery for a tour and a sampling! After, we visit Trinity College and the 8th century Book of Kells. Our afternoon and evening are free to enjoy the Capital city of Dublin. Dinner is on your own this evening. Why not enjoy one of the many Michelin star rated restaurants Dublin has to choose from. Early morning transfer to Dublin for your return flight home. Flights to the U.S. arrive home the same day.
