Suriname Guyana Discovery Vacation Package

13 Days

Overview

Suriname is a small country on the northern coast of South America. It is located between Guyana and French Guiana, part of the Amazonian basin and geographically one of the southernmost members of the Caribbean Community. Suriname is the smallest country in South America and has a small population of about 400,000 people. The official language is Dutch, but many other languages are also spoken. Most Surinamese live in the coastal area, and almost all of them in Paramaribo.

Guyana is comprised of large landmass north of the Amazon River and east of the Orinoco River known as the “Land of many waters”. Historical Guyana is made up of three Dutch colonies: Essequibo, Demerara, and Berbice. Modern Guyana is bordered to the east by Suriname.
Guyana has a small population of 750,000 people but occupies land the size of Great Britain. Most of its interior is uninhabited except for a scattering of Indigenous Amerindian villages and a few small towns. The official language is English and it has very strong links with the Caribbean. Located on the north eastern coast of South America and one hours flight away from Trinidad and Barbados, it makes a wonderful getaway to both Amazonia and the Caribbean.
